While it may look familiar on the outside, the redesigned internals of the ShockStop PRO RT give you a Race-Tuned feel that provides the right amount of suspension for high performance gravel and road riding. The PRO RT delivers significant weight reduction (over 130 grams!) while still utilizing the optimized linkage design of the original ShockStop Suspension Seatpost.

Our "scratch and dent" ShockStop Seatposts are all new and unused but have minor surface-level marks or inconsistencies in the finish that didn't quite meet our standards during the final visual inspection. There may be some cosmetic scratches or blemishes from the manufacturing process, shipping or even temporarily mounting on a bike for marketing purposes. Functionally, they are identical to their full-priced counterparts and come with the same 360° Ride Guarantee including our 90-day no questions asked return policy as well as our lifetime warranty.

These units are not available locally in the UK, EU, AUS, and CAN - please email us if you are interested in purchasing from one of those locations.

What is the minimum and maximum insertion depth and clearance for the ShockStop Seatpost?

What length should I choose? 350mm or 280mm?

350mm is our standard size, but we developed the 280mm to allow for a wider range of fits.
Measure your current seatpost from the clamp collar to the saddle rail - If that distance is less than 205mm, you can use the 280mm seatpost. If not, order the 350mm size.

What kind of saddle bags can I use with the ShockStop Suspension Seatpost?

Most standard strap-based saddle bags will fit the ShockStop Seatpost without issue. If your saddle bag uses rigid clips, clamps, or some other inflexible attachment method, it's possible that your bag may not be compatible.
Any bag that just attaches to the saddle or just attaches to the post is fine. But when you attach to both the post and the saddle you need to account for the relative motion of the saddle to the post. This means that if you cinch down the bag when off the bike it might have some movement when you get on the saddle and compress the post a bit - this might not be a problem but it might be something that is an issue.
It all really depends on weight and how stable the bag is and if it is attached to both the post and the saddle - it can be fine but with a lot of weight it will mean it can move around when the post is compressed. It will likely come down to testing it out with your specific bag to see how it works. And if you have a bag that is able to be secured to just the post or to the post and a rear rack then you will be all set.

Is the stiffness adjustable?

The progressive spring rate allows us to use a standard elastomer configuration that adapts to the full range of riders and eliminates the need for adjustable preload.
