What style pedal (flat versus clipless and/or traction pins versus teeth) should I choose?
Arclight City Pedals - Choose the Arclight City pedals for commuting or recreational riding on e-bikes, commuter bikes, or hybrid bikes. The aluminum teeth provide all-weather grip but are less likely to damage shoe soles and are friendlier to your shins and clothing.
Arclight PRO Flat Pedals - Choose the Arclight PRO Flat pedals for increased performance and MTB-style grip that will keep your feet planted on even the most demanding on or off-road rides. The 10 replaceable traction pins on each side of each pedal are great for riding in any conditions with your mountain/MTB, gravel, commuter, e-bike, hybrid, recreation, or road bike.
Arclight PRO Clipless Pedals - Choose the SPD compatible Arclight PRO Clipless pedals if you prefer clip-in pedals and are looking for increased safety on and off-road on road, gravel, mountain/MTB, city, and commuter bikes.
How much grip do the pedals have?
The Arclight PRO Flat pedals have serious grip. They utilize MTB style traction pins that will keep your feet planted even when the riding gets rough. The Arclight City pedals feature integrated, non-removable aluminum grip "teeth" around the perimeter of the pedal that provide excellent traction on all types of shoes. While they do not have the same level of grip as pins, the aluminum teeth are less likely to damage shoe soles and are friendlier to your shins and clothing.
Is there a clipless/SPD compatible version available?
Yes! You can find the Arclight PRO Clipless pedals here.
Are there any limits on where I can use Arclights and are they legal in Germany?
Arclight Pedals are legal for use in most countries, including the US. Regulations do vary significantly by country, and even within a country they depend on the conditions of use, including bike type, trail/road type, time of day, etc. Because of that, we recommend that you check local rules to confirm that Arclight Pedals are acceptable based on your individual situation. With regard to Germany specifically, our understanding is that the Arclight Pedals do not meet the StVZO regulations for use on public roads because of the ability to change from steady to flash.
Will the lights shake out if I hit a bump?
The secure magnetic attachment is true to its name. In hundreds of hours of testing over all types of terrain, we have not had a single light module eject from a pedal or from the multi-mount.

Multi-Mount
The Arclight light modules are removable from the pedals and designed to be modular so they can be used in other applications.
The Mult-Mount is a simple mount that holds the Arclight light module and allows you to fix it to various points on your bicycle (ie: seatpost and handlebars,) or your helmet/bag.
A great way to add extra visibility and get more use out of your Arclight product!
